“Sardinia, a place deeply dear to me, is a land where many traditions now struggle to survive, yet it holds an ancient story that feels surprisingly current. It is to this story – which belongs to me and moves me – that I dedicate this project,” says Maddalena Casadei speaking of her Marisco rug, which reinterprets the ancient Sardinian tradition of cane coverings.
The base weave is enriched with a coloured polypropylene thread that moves with its own rhythm, creating a harmonious dialogue between tradition and innovation. The handloom weaving lends it the thickness and elegance of an indoor rug, while the properties of the synthetic yarn make it suitable for outdoor use, ensuring optimal resistance to weathering.
