      Emplacement

      Berlin

The Vietnamese restaurant Miss Dô is in the food court of a shopping mall, in a southern district of Berlin.

The decor is based on the identification and accentuation of opposites.

Within one of the most artificial and anthropized architectural types – the non-place of a shopping mall – an explosion of green creates unexpectedness. The oxygen and moisture released from the leaves determine the visitor’s immediate perception of being in a place outside its context. A non-abstract, concrete site with a strong natural matrix that evokes South-East Asia (and in particular Vietnam) rather than the metropolitan area of Berlin.

The theme of opposites is also proposed through the use of the metal orthogonal structure that develops along the entire length of the walls, with a support function for tables and plants.

The furniture is also designed to reinforce the nature-centric approach of the restaurant space. Not just vegetation, but also extreme environments. The shape of the tables evokes that of icebergs, the mountains of ice that, despite their immense masses, manage to rise over the water.

The choice of Lisa Wood chairs was therefore inevitable!
